AS ONE went on to become a U.S. Certified Gold album in November of helped by its top 30 position on the U.S. charts, and top 50 in the U.K. (spending 10 weeks in the U.K. album chart), while also climbing all the way to #5 on the U.S. R&B album chart.

    Of all the kool & the Gang Albums, As One is one that I feel has the best background vocals,and of course not forgetting most notably; James "J.T" Taylor in the lead. That stands out mostly in the songs "Let's Go Dancing", "Big fun" and my favourite "Street Kids". The tune "As One" stands out in a class of it's own. So much talent those guys had/5(28).
